TERMS & CONDITIONS

This is a trade only website, we supply to businesses and organizations, and by agreeing to these terms and conditions you are confirming that you are a trade customer.

PRICING & VAT

All prices listed are shown exclusive of VAT. The prices are quoted in GBP sterling. We try to ensure the prices on our website are as accurate as possible; however we reserve the right to change prices without notice. All orders are to the UK and Northern Ireland only.

PAYMENT

All goods remain the property of Electric Gate Kits until payment is received in full and funds are cleared.

PAYMENT METHODS

Electric Gate Kits accepts the following credit cards as method of payment:

Maestro / Visa/ Mastercard/Switch     
PayPal
Solo

We also accept payment by Paypal or Cheque.  (If paying by Cheque goods will not be dispatched until the cheque has cleared funds).

We can accept telephone orders, fax orders, or e-mail orders.

Your order is only accepted by us once we have taken payment from you.

WEB SITE SECURITY

On order processing pages we use SSL secure systems, this is the industry security standard to ensure maximum peace of mind for all customers placing orders on line.

PRIVACY POLICY

We collect the information given at the time of your order. This information is not disclosed to any third party. All information is collected lawfully and in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.

GENERAL

On placing an order from us you are agreeing to our terms and conditions.  We reserve the right to decline any order for any reason.  These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales and any disputes will be decided only by the courts of England and Wales.  Electric Gate Kits is a trading name of Essex Gate Systems

 

 

DELIVERY

If a gate kit is ordered, if no instructions are received from the customer, goods will be dispatched via our normal courier to the address given on the customer order. Due to the value of the goods they must be checked and signed for by the customer unless otherwise stated. By signing for the goods on inspection and not stating damaged, disentitles the customer from any claim for damage to the goods in transit. "Unchecked" will not be accepted as a valid status.

If the goods are damaged in transit you must contact us in writing (by e-mail) within 48 working hours of the date of delivery.  If an item is lost in transit please contact us promptly.

Smaller, less expensive goods, i.e remote controls, are delivered by Royal Mail, Recorded Delivery Goods are usually dispatched the next working day, however this cannot be guaranteed therefore please allow up to 5 working days from placing the order.

RETURNS UNWANTED

No returned item will be accepted without a valid issued Return Number. Refunds will only be given when the item is received and checked in.

 

If any goods are returned unwanted or incorrectly ordered by you, we will either exchange or refund (subject to a 20% restocking fee) provided that all goods are returned in a perfect re-saleable condition within 7 days.  .

 

We do not pay return carriage on goods.  Any goods returned therefore remain your responsibility until it is received by us.  Therefore we would strongly recommend that you send a returned item by recorded delivery for your own peace of mind.

 

 

Please note, we cannot accept returned goods for a refund or exchange if

 

a)    They have been unpacked and not repacked in the way in which they were delivered.  (We therefore recommend that you retain and return the goods in the original packaging if possible.  If not you should use packaging that would provide similar protection).  Returned items must be received ‘as new’ and in a re-saleable condition.

b)    Items that are marked or used in anyway.

c)    Goods that have been signed for as complete and undamaged.  If the reason you are returning them is because they are damaged or incomplete.

 

If it is an exchange of goods you require due to the incorrect item being purchased the same procedure applies. No refund will be given to any item wrongly ordered by you.

 

RETURNS WITHIN WARRENTY

 

The same procedure as quoted  above applies (a return number must be obtained, and the goods returned in an acceptable condition).

Warranty is covered from the date of purchase not date of installation and with the customer stated on the invoice and non-transferable to any third parties.

 

Whilst EGK makes reasonable effort to ensure we sell only the highest quality goods, we do not offer any guarantee or warranty schemes other than those offered by the product manufacturers.

 

Misuse or abuse of the product will invalidate any warranty.

 

Any goods returned during the warranty period must also be returned with a note explaining the nature of the problem along with your details. The goods will be repaired or replaced as necessary. Please note that any products deemed to be faulty will be returned to the manufacturer.

All postage costs relating to the returning of goods will be your responsibility (except when the goods are incorrect by our process).

 

Electric Gates will not be held responsible for any added labour costs to the customer for installing replacement products.

If you are returning an item because of an error made on our part, we will be happy to refund the delivery charges incurred in returning the goods to us.

 

Any discounted goods based on quantity are not sold on a sale or return basis, any unused items agreed to be taken back by us, will only be refunded at the non-discounted price less the restocking fee of 20%.

We may change the terms at any time by posting such changes on this site.  Your continued use of the Site after notice of change shall mean that you are bound by the new terms.

Every effort is made to keep the website up and running smoothly. However  EGK  takes no responsibility for, and will not be liable for, the website being temporarily unavailable due to technical issues beyond our control.

We try to ensure that the information shown on the Electric Gates website is as accurate as possible. However we cannot guarantee this is the case and we shall not be liable for inaccuracies or for your reliance on incorrect or out of date information.  Whilst we will try to take all reasonable steps to protect your personal details, we cannot guarantee the security of any data you disclose on line and will not be responsible for any breach of security unless this is due to negligence.  We do not have any liability to you arising out of your use or inability to use the site.  We will not be liable to you for any unforeseeable losses.

In no event will we be liable for any loss or damage inclusive without limitation, indirect or consequential loss or damage, or any los or damage whatsoever arising from loss of data or profits arising out of, or in connection with, the use of this website.
